ventureLAB is thrilled to announce its participation in the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit in Serbia, where Chief AI Advisor Garry Chan will be a panelist on "Collaborative Innovation: Partnerships Between Academia, Industry, and Government." GPAI, which launched in 2020, aims to promote the responsible development and use of AI globally. Initiated by Canada and France, GPAI showcases Canada's commitment to ethical AI development and enhances its role as a global leader through initiatives like the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy—the first of its kind.
The GPAI initiative reflects Canada’s dedication to international collaboration in AI, focusing on harnessing technology to address urgent global issues while emphasizing equity, transparency, and human rights. Recently, the Canadian government, through Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne, launched the Canadian Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute (CAISI). This institute aims to strengthen Canada's capacity to tackle AI safety risks, positioning the nation as a leader in the safe and responsible development of AI technologies.
At ventureLAB, we believe in the power of collaborative innovation to yield significant results. Our Accelerate AI program supports over 40 AI companies already established in the market, assisting them in refining their products and expanding their capabilities. We provide commercialization expertise that enables these companies to integrate AI into existing software and remain competitive in rapidly changing markets. Our mission centers on building an ethical framework for AI commercialization, aligning with societal values.
Garry Chan's panel at the GPAI Summit will focus on the essential roles of partnerships among academia, industry, and government in fostering innovation and tackling complex societal challenges. The discussion aims to showcase successful collaborative models that maximize AI's impact and amplify progress across sectors. The emphasis on collaborative innovation is crucial to the development and scaling of breakthrough technologies.
ventureLAB takes pride in contributing to this significant discussion, offering insights drawn from our role at the intersection of hardware, AI, entrepreneurship, and policy within Canada’s innovation ecosystem. Our involvement in the GPAI Summit underscores our commitment to promoting innovation through global collaboration.
We look forward to sharing updates from the summit and insights from the panel as we discuss our vision for collaborative innovation and the future of AI. Through this participation, ventureLAB reinforces its mission to support responsible AI development and empower companies to leverage technology in a way that aligns with ethical practices and societal needs.
