Find your fintech friends — live and in person

Live events will soon return to MaRS this spring via the annual Canadian Fintech Summit from our partners at Framework Venture Partners. The conference brings together startups, founders, CEOs and industry thought leaders for two days of panel discussions, pitches and networking receptions. Watch as more than 20 of Canada’s top fintech startups compete for the attention of the country’s top VCs, listen to keynote speakers deliver insight on the latest industry news and trends, and much more. Connect with the queer tech community

The best entrepreneurs know that building successful companies means having the most diverse workforce possible. The QueerTech Qareers Virtual Fair offers ventures and job seekers the opportunity to do just that, connecting the skills of the queer community with strong employers. Along with a series of workshops and speed interviews, the event also includes panel discussions on topics such as how to identify green flags of inclusivity in a workplace, as well as ensuring equity in the future of work. Meet robots set to improve human lives

As artificially-intelligent robots become more advanced, how can they be used to help us live better lives? CIFAR will try to answer this question at its next virtual talk featuring leading robotics expert Goldie Nejat (University of Toronto) and political scientist Amos Zehavi (Tel Aviv University). The speakers will share their findings related to social robots, and the implications on society and policy. April 27, online

Discover the latest breakthroughs in gastroenterology

Gastroenterology is the study of disorders related to the digestive system, such as Celiac disease, chronic liver diseases and IBD. Hosted by the University of Toronto, our partners at Takeda Canada will share insights on their R&D vision and offer a glimpse of partnership opportunities and innovations that lie ahead. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Chinweike Ukomadu, a Boston-based physician-scientist whose career spans academia, clinical care and industry. April 8, online

These global cities are now striving to create what we have in Toronto: a dense innovation district that co-locates universities, startups, corporates and investors.
