Sudbury’s Verv Technologies Secures Funding for Blood Testing Device

Verv Technologies, a Sudbury-based startup, has secured $250,000 in funding from the Sudbury Catalyst Fund to further develop its innovative medical device that allows users to conduct in-home blood tests. This funding comes as part of a $5 million initiative that supports scalable tech startups, jointly managed by various local organizations, including the Nickel Basin Federal Development Corp. and the City of Greater Sudbury.

This recent financial support represents the second infusion of capital for Verv from the Sudbury Catalyst Fund, having previously received $250,000 in 2020. The device developed by Verv, named “Vi,” enables users to dib blood onto a testing strip to analyze health markers, including cholesterol and hormone levels. Results from these tests are produced within 15 minutes and can conveniently be transmitted to users' smartphones through a dedicated mobile app, enhancing the overall user experience.
