Shaker Recruitment Marketing Teams Up with JobAdX: A Founder’s Path to a Transformative Alliance

JobAdX, co-founded by Amit Chauhan in 2017, has recently been acquired by Shaker Recruitment Marketing, a veteran agency in recruitment marketing with a 74-year history. This acquisition is a significant milestone for Chauhan and his team, marking not just recognition of their hard work but also setting the stage for future growth in recruitment marketing technology.

Chauhan’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2013 when he was motivated to improve the recruitment process while waiting for a Google interview. This inspiration led to the establishment of Recroup, a platform aimed at talent retargeting, which later evolved into JobAdX after recognizing gaps in job advertising. The platform utilizes consumer advertising techniques to optimize job ad placements, effectively targeting job seekers in a way that was innovative for the industry.

Under Chauhan’s leadership, JobAdX experienced remarkable growth, generating $3 million in revenue by 2022 through a focused approach targeting U.S. clients with high-volume hiring needs. The company's success was attributed to the rising demand for programmatic job advertising, which allows employers to efficiently manage and optimize their ad spend. However, awareness of market changes regarding hiring trends prompted the JobAdX team to look for strategic partnerships to navigate the evolving landscape.

Initially forming a partnership with Shaker Recruitment Marketing, JobAdX was able to customize its technology to meet Shaker's client needs, strengthening their collaboration over a year. This alliance ultimately led to Shaker acquiring JobAdX in early 2025, integrating the JobAdX team into Shaker’s workforce, allowing Chauhan to assume the role of VP of Programmatic Technology.

Going forward, JobAdX aims to enhance its programmatic job advertising capabilities while maintaining a focus on transparency and efficiency for Shaker’s established client base. Chauhan expressed excitement about the control and flexibility that having technology in-house provides, noting it enhances the ability to optimize job distribution spending.

Moreover, Chauhan credits the importance of mentorship in his journey. He has surrounded himself with seasoned advisors through Altitude Accelerator, such as Paul Barter, Geoff Simonett, and Graham McBride, who helped refine JobAdX’s business model and navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship. Their insights were invaluable in guiding the strategic direction of the company and in making critical connections.

In summary, JobAdX’s acquisition by Shaker Recruitment Marketing signifies a new chapter in its development, poised for significant growth while leveraging the extensive resources and expertise of its new parent company. With a shared vision and commitment to advancing recruitment marketing technology, the collaboration is expected to benefit both JobAdX and Shaker’s clients significantly. The focus on programmatic job advertising is now more pronounced than ever, underscoring the importance of adapting to market trends and maintaining strong networks within the industry.
