Markham-based inField Solutions offers contactless curbside pickup services

inField Solutions is a local Markham technology startup that has created a smart locker solution called the inField Shoppe iQ Connected Cubbies. iQ Connected Cubbies provide a safe and contactless self-serve pick-up solution for restaurant food orders and retailer packages. It offers a safe solution that is climate-controlled for both indoor and outdoor applications. Accessible with a unique code, customers claim their orders either by manually opening the cubby or opening the doors automatically through their personal smartphone. It is a fully contactless experience. For three months, inField Solutions is offering this technology free-of-charge to businesses in York Region as part of the ventureLAB and Digital Main Street Community Collaboration Program. The Connected Cubbies are the ideal solution for contactless delivery during the pandemic. Rakesh Tiku, Founder and CEO of inField Solutions, pitched this versatile smart locker technology at ventureLAB’s annual Made In York Region Pitch Competition and received $10,000 to assist main street businesses in York Region free-of-charge. As the country continues to grapple with the public health measures to keep us safe, a growing number of retailers are turning to Connected Cubbies as a solution to limit potential exposure to COVID-19 for customers and employees.

According to Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, offering curbside pickup and delivery “is the next step forward in safely and methodically re-opening our economy, so that we can return to the path of economic prosperity and renewal.”
