Longan Vision wins $1M CAD Contract to help further First Responder Technology

Hamilton, Ontario based Longan Vision, developers of smart technology for First Responders, is proud to announce the Head Up Hands-Free Phase 2 contract award of over $1 Million CAD from Innovative Solutions Canada and funded by the Department of National Defense (DND).

The contract is for Longan Vision’s innovative efforts in providing a long-term solution that will help Canadian firefighters work in a more Head-Up Hands-Free mode of operation in various conditions including fire operations.

Innovation Solutions Canada (ISC) provides funding for major R&D projects that will have revolutionary impacts on Canadian society. They help Canadian innovators who are trying to start their companies, grow their companies and get their products to market.

Longan Vision has been working with firefighters across Canada, the United States and Japan for over 3 years to bring the Fusion Vision System (FVS), a hands-free helmet mounted thermal imager which uses Augmented Reality to display information to the user to market. This device provides enhanced vision in dark and smoky locations to help save lives faster.
