eSentire expands in APAC region in response to enterprise demand and uptick in cyber threats

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, March 21, 2022 – eSentire, the authority in Managed Detection and Response (MDR), today announced the expansion and scaling of its international go-to-market operations across Asia-Pacific (APAC), growing both its staff and strategic partnerships. eSentire’s increase in staff and partners in the region is in response to a growing demand from enterprises and mid-size businesses looking for proven, robust end-to-end MDR services. With customers and strong, strategic partnerships already in place, such as Tecala and Tradewinds, Australia has been selected as the initial point of entry for the region.

Piers Morgan, eSentire VP, EMEA and International, is leading strategic planning and business development in Australia and the overall APAC region, furthering the company’s investment in its global expansion. Morgan brings more than 25 years of industry experience, working with startups, global IT, tech and SaaS companies. Morgan is adding to his Australian-based team, hiring staff in the areas of partner management, business development and solution architecture. Morgan has just brought on Oliver Chivers, who is overseeing in-region business development for the company.

Last month, eSentire announced a US$325-million investment into the business, securing a valuation greater than US$1 billion and surpassing US$100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR). In 2022, eSentire plans to triple its investment in its partner program, which includes MSPs, MSSPs, “trusted advisers,” distributors and technology partners.

Areas of investment in eSentire’s partner program include developing new and expanded AWS marketplace listings, implementing a partner rewards program and adding new distribution channels. The new channels will enable eSentire partners to buy security services the way they want to buy, thus enhancing the overall experience for their customers. eSentire is also producing new cloud container security offerings and providing partners with greater visibility into their customers’ security environment. eSentire continues to invest in its technology so it can get its partners’ customers provisioned in just two days, giving them prompt access to the company’s Insight Portal, thus speeding their time to value. The Insight Portal visually demonstrates a customer’s security posture and makes eSentire’s 24/7 investigation and response to threats transparent.

“The global cyberthreat landscape continues to expand and become more complex each day, and organisations, regardless of their size, are incapable of protecting critical data in a distributed way. This is why we are expanding our presence and growing our partner-first business model in Australia and the APAC region,” said Morgan. “We expect that our partners will contribute 50 percent of our company’s revenue bookings in the next 12 months, and we have already seen our partners play a significant role in eSentire’s growth and expansion into the UK, Europe, the Middle East and APAC. By adding to our business and technical resources in the region, our partners and their customers will experience unmatched security services, adding instant value and strength to their security posture.”

Founded in 2001, eSentire created the category of MDR to define its innovative approach to delivering complete response to modern security threats. eSentire protects the critical data of 1,200 organizations in over 75 countries and delivers the world’s most complete response capability with a Mean Time to Contain of less than 15 minutes. eSentire’s AI-driven Atlas XDR Cloud Platform enables real-time detection and response at scale, as each threat detection machine learning model and expert response action are proactively pushed across the eSentire global customer base. This Security Network Effect coupled with the support of eSentire’s 24/7 Threat Response Unit, Elite Threat Hunters and SOC Analysts, enables a level of protection that cannot be underestimated in today’s evolving cybercrime ecosystem. eSentire’s security portfolio also includes strategic assessment and planning Managed Risk Services and Digital Forensics and Incident Response services.

eSentire’s expansion into APAC follows a series of incredible achievements and recognition for its partner program and leadership, including:

  • In July 2021, eSentire announced a partnership with Tecala, and together, they have won several key opportunities. The partnership enables Tecala to augment its cybersecurity practice and offer enterprises a powerful, all-in-one cybersecurity service.
  • In October 2021, eSentire announced a distribution partnership with Telarus to include APAC through its local subsidiary Tradewinds Technology Brokerage to deliver MDR to its cybersecurity distribution portfolio.
  • eSentire holds global alliances with technical partners: Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Sumo Logic, VMWare Carbon Black and SentinelOne.
  • eSentire’s Chief Channel Officer Bob Layton recently won the CRN Channel Chief Award for the fourth time.
  • eSentire named to CRN’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) 500 list in the Security 100 category.
