Cleantech Commons and ProLytics Research Synergies Launch New Knowledge Partnership

Peterborough, September 26, 2023 – Cleantech Commons at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, and ProLytics Research Synergies have concluded a new “knowledge partnership” designed to boost the support available to cleantech start-up and spinout ventures when developing, testing, and scaling their novel products. ProLytics offers customized scientific advisory and analytical services, including in areas such as chemical analysis, experimental design, data consultation, food technology, biochemistry and molecular biology, and bioinformatics.

“Developing clean, green, and sustainable solutions is more important than ever,” says Cleantech Commons executive director Martin Yuill. “The partnership with ProLytics reaffirms our commitment to being at the forefront of these critical developments and nurturing the growth, development, and sustainability of innovative, next-generation cleantech ventures. The analytical services offered by ProLytics will give our research and innovation park community of cleantech innovators access to sector-leading scientists and advanced equipment to help them achieve their research and development goals,” he adds.

Meeting the growing need for expert analytical services

The newly announced partnership aims to directly address the affordability and expertise gaps experienced by many cleantech companies.“We understand that many early- and growth-stage companies often lack the capital required to build and operate their own research facilities or procure expensive equipment and talent that they will use only occasionally,” says Jill Emery, co-founder of Peterborough, Ontario-based ProLytics. “ProLytics offers a solution to these research challenges.”

Cleantech Commons and ProLytics will collaborate in providing companies with access to mentorship, guidance, and advice, as well as contract services that support the development of innovative clean technology products, processes, and services.
“Our scientists will work with clients to guide a project from start to finish,” says Emery. “Through this partnership, we will provide Cleantech Commons clients with a personalized roadmap to achieve company-specific goals, including experimental design, analytics and data plans, budgeting, milestones, and timelines to dramatically accelerate their time and path to market.”

Cleantech Commons Research and Innovation Park is a partnership between Trent University and the City of Peterborough. Its vision is to become a hub for green technology innovation by serving as a point of convergence for the world-class researchers, students, laboratories, and facilities at Trent University with both emerging and existing Canadian innovators.
