Chatham-Kent, ON, November 15, 2023 – Chatham-Kent welcomes back one of its own, Ron Spreeuwenberg, co-founder of the Lillio app, formerly HiMama, as the guest speaker for Innovation Outpost: Founders Night CK, a free networking event dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.
The event takes place on November 28th at 5:30PM, and is a collaboration between WETechAlliance, Libro Credit Union, and the Chatham-Kent Economic Development Corporation. The event is set to take place at The Chilled Cork, located inside the Retro Suites Hotel in beautiful downtown Chatham.
Founders Night CK is designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of individuals, including students, budding entrepreneurs, seasoned business proprietors, and anyone with a penchant for entrepreneurship. The overarching objective is to inspire, connect, and fortify our local entrepreneurial community.
Attendees will have the invaluable opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and establish connections within the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Additionally, they will be privileged to glean insights from Blenheim native Ron Spreeuwenberg, the co-founder of Lillio. Lillio, a Toronto-based enterprise, has secured $90 million in funding, amassed a customer base of 10,000, and expanded its team to 180 employees.
Ron’s remarkable journey, from his roots in agricultural work in Chatham-Kent to pursuing studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo and obtaining an MBA from Harvard Business School, stands as a testament to the limitless potential of individuals originating from this region.
