WINDSOR, ON, October 8, 2024 – Picsume, a Windsor Ontario founded tech company revolutionizing the recruitment process, has successfully closed its recent seed round, securing $1 million CAD from a lead investor, with additional funds being contributed by both SRED and IRAP.
The round was led by veteran tech entrepreneur, Jeremy Brown, co-founder and former President of Contractor Compliance – a management software company which enjoyed a successful 9 figure exit in January 2024. “From my first meeting with the Picsume team, I recognized that they had something special,” said Brown. “They are true innovators solving the current workforce crisis by using clever new ideas and leveraging AI to do so. With the help of my experience scaling SaaS start-ups, we’ll be able to bring these new concepts to a mass market, creating workforce solutions for everyone.”
Picsume C.E.O Jordan Goure says the funding will be used to expand their sales team across North America, and further the development of their proprietary resume parsing and AI matching algorithms, both funded and supported by the federal government programs. This new investment will enable Picsume to rapidly grow their core product offerings, such as their Powered by Picsume software which welcomes companies of all sizes into the new generation of AI enabled workforce tools.
Brown was Goure’s choice to lead the round. “We hosted a demo day back in May of this year, which led us to enter into due diligence discussions with several well-known investors. As this was an oversubscribed round with several options on the table, we strategically wanted to partner with someone who has been in a very similar position with a comparable SaaS product.” said Goure.
In just a single year since product launch, Picsume has received an award for most innovative company in their region, has been recognized as having the most growth potential by the WETechAlliance ScaleUP program, and has received funding from three innovation agencies, the notable i.d.e.a. Fund included.
“The $1M seed funding raised by Picsume is a testament to the momentum building in our region’s startup ecosystem. This investment not only enables Picsume to scale but also creates ripple effects that benefit the entire community. It’s a powerful reminder that regional innovation is driving economic development, and we’re excited to see Picsume start locally and scale globally, a key part of our vision for the future of entrepreneurship in the area,” offered Yvonne Pilon, President and CEO, WETechAlliance.
Picsume was founded in 2021 by brothers Jordan & Joshua Goure with close friend Nick Mastromattei. They saw the need for change within the hiring landscape having spent their entire careers as entrepreneurs, starting 10+ companies that all had one issue in common, hiring inefficiencies. It was then, the vision to transform the traditional resume was born, providing a more efficient, streamlined, unbiased hiring process. The days of manually sorting through piles of resumes are over, Picsume redefines hiring.
