My recent month-long journey spanning three continents—Marrakech for GITEX Africa, Singapore for GITEX Asia, and Jamaica for CEI—delivered remarkable insights into the global tech innovation landscape. Covering 15 flights between April 14 and May 10, this odyssey revealed a fundamental truth: the future of technology thrives through the confluence of regional strengths and global aspirations.

Kicking off in Marrakech for GITEX Africa, the event showcased Africa's vibrant tech ecosystem, fostering optimism as founders, investors, and policymakers convened to explore the continent’s potential. The standout innovation was from StraitPay, a fintech startup aimed at creating an interoperable payment platform to address the challenges of fragmentation in African financial systems. Their approach underscores an essential need for financial inclusion as mobile money transforms transactions across the continent.

Beyond the conference, interactions with peers fostered deeper cultural connections, with explorations of Marrakech's rich offerings enhancing our collective experience. The presence of The Firehood was significant; we not only participated in impactful discussions but also invested $50,000 in a women-led startup during the event, reinforcing our commitment to empower female entrepreneurs and boost financial inclusion in Africa.

Just a week later, GITEX Asia in Singapore spotlighted the region's advanced tech ecosystem focused on scaling innovations, particularly in AI and cybersecurity. KeyReply, with its AI-driven customer engagement platform, showcased the region's capability to develop impactful solutions for diverse markets. Their technology highlights Singapore’s infrastructure and talent pool as fertile grounds for cutting-edge innovations.

The emphasis on "AI Everything Asia" illustrated the vast potential of generative AI and automation. Singapore's robust landscape is conducive for founders looking to penetrate Asian markets, making it crucial for businesses to adopt scalable platforms tailored to specific regional demands.

### CEI Jamaica: A Hub for Innovation

The journey culminated in Jamaica for CEI, where the local tech ecosystem presents unique advantages, such as proactive government support and integration with North America. Flix FX emerged as a leader with its groundbreaking drone technology for marketing and agricultural applications. This dual focus on creative and practical uses demonstrates how Jamaica is establishing itself as a trendsetter in the global innovation space.

My involvement with women entrepreneurs in Jamaica, inspired by earlier experiences in Ethiopian microfinance, proved rewarding. Organizing entrepreneurship sessions revealed their tenacity despite the hurdles they face. Observing their rapid adaptation of new concepts and networking capabilities affirmed Jamaica’s readiness to embrace innovation and provided insights for founders considering expansion in the Caribbean. The region’s agility makes it a prime testing ground for new technologies, amplified by strong ties to North American markets.
