C’est le moment d’innover au Canada : Ottawa répond présent avec le retour de l’événement emblématique AccelerateOTT.

AccelerateOTT 2025: A Vision for Innovation in Ottawa

On June 12, 2025, Ottawa will host AccelerateOTT, a premier event for expanding technology companies in Canada, under the theme “Légendes en devenir.” Amidst global economic disruptions and changing business dynamics, the event aims to spotlight the innovative spirit of Ottawa's entrepreneurs. Sonya Shorey, CEO of Investir Ottawa, emphasized the importance of local entrepreneurs who are resilient and ambitious, claiming they are key to building a robust G7 economy.

Organized by Investir Ottawa, the capital's economic development agency, AccelerateOTT 2025 occurs at a crucial time when policymakers and entrepreneurial leaders are eager to enhance Canada’s innovation capacity. This year's event will include talks and panels featuring successful founders of high-growth companies, highlighting their contributions to the ecosystem.

In line with a recent report by the BDC on venture capital in Canada, which called for a collective awakening to focus on investments, AccelerateOTT will also host the Startup World Cup in Ottawa. This competition allows entrepreneurs and startups to vie for $50,000 in non-dilutive funding and a chance to compete globally in San Francisco, organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures. This spotlight on entrepreneurship is set against a backdrop of a shifting economic, technological, and cultural landscape.

Nick Quain, VP of Startup Development at Investir Ottawa, noted that today’s entrepreneurs prioritize sustainable operations, immediate export capacity, and long-term resilience over rapid capital deployment. This shift marks a new era of entrepreneurship where efficiency and global ambition take center stage.

The event will coincide with the inaugural Ottawa Innovation Week, strategically timed to boost local innovation, facilitate commercialization, and draw worldwide investments in response to economic uncertainty. Since its inception in 2013, AccelerateOTT has evolved into one of Canada’s key entrepreneurial conferences. Its 2025 iteration marks a return to large-scale in-person events, reflecting a renewed urgency to accelerate Canada's innovation economy through collaboration, funding, and bold leadership.
