Today’s grand opening is a key step forward in the VHCP and represents how effective partnerships can deliver positive outcomes,” said Mayor Del Duca.
Launched in 2020, the Hardware Catalyst Initiative is Canada’s only hardware and semiconductor-focused lab and incubator. The Government of Canada’s investment of close to $10 million has enabled ventureLAB to secure additional funding from the Government of Ontario, the Regional Municipality of York, the the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network, and build a growing global network of over 45 partners who have committed more than $55 million through tools, resources, and expertise. The HCI has worked with close to 60 founders and innovators building hardware and semiconductor-based products and technologies to accelerate their time to commercialization in a sector that typically incurs lengthy and costly time to market.
