With exponential growth in the region’s tech ecosystem comes the great responsibility of fostering a culture of innovation across multiple sectors, including education. As strong believers of this vision, TechAlliance welcomes summer students annually to help them set foot in the world surrounded by innovators, ventures and change-makers.
This summer, we are happy to announce further expansion of the TechAlliance team and welcome two interns – Reva Ly and Sophia Dudurych as our Communications Coordinators. Both Reva and Sophia come with a broad educational background and extensive experience in communications and are the perfect addition to the team, primarily supporting our efforts to amplify ventures and innovators in Southwestern Ontario.
Reva Ly – Communications Coordinator
With multiple degrees in Literature and Marketing along with active involvement in many tech initiatives, Reva’s passion for marketing and communications was fostered through her extensive educational journey. She has had a chance to lead various tech and robotics projects, manage teams, and devise marketing, communication and media plans during her 3-year-long stint as the president of the Western Electronic Gaming Association. In the past TechAlliance supported one of her robotics projects, so Reva is no stranger to our mission, vision and work of supporting Southwestern Ontario’s most promising startups and fueling growth in Canada’s innovation economy.
“I am excited to be surrounded by like-minded professionals and aim to learn and contribute as much as possible throughout my journey. I am eager to utilize my current skillset of securing and creating valuable relationships while further expanding my repertoire in marketing,” says Reva. “Entrepreneurs and startups excite me, and I look forward to interacting with founders and making the most of my experience at TechAlliance.”
Sophia Dudurych – Communications Coordinator
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Media Information at Western University, Sophia developed her interest in marketing, communications and business early in her life. This inspired her to pursue multiple marketing internships and work opportunities where she was single-handedly responsible for leading all marketing efforts including social media marketing, graphic designing, influencer collaborations, digital ads, product photography, and data analysis across different industries such as hospitality and education. With the will to define her specific area of interest and expertise in the field of marketing, Sophia was also an active member of Western’s Marketing Association where she supported the planning of events and devised elaborate marketing plans for promotion.
Through this internship at TechAlliance, Sophia aims to develop the necessary skills to set her apart in today’s thriving tech and innovation industry, “As the Communications Coordinator, I look forward to collaborating with others on the team and to further hone my skills, especially on the forefront of planning and branding. I am also excited to delve into new marketing-specific tools and software which will help take my professional development to the next level.”
“The experience, education and expertise of emerging professionals like Sophia and Reva bring insight to our team, which is crucial for our ever-growing innovation economy”, says Christina Fox, CEO at TechAlliance. “TechAlliance is delighted to welcome their talent and energy which will aid in the amplification of companies in Southwestern Ontario’s innovation corridor.”
