The Big Questions – Morgan Mitchell, Green Goddess Fromagerie

Q: When was the moment you first knew you were meant to be an entrepreneur?

I’m not sure that I ever really knew that I was meant to be an entrepreneur. Green Goddess Fromagerie is the single mama side hustle that grew. I was genuinely delighted to learn that other people loved my cheese as much as I loved making it, and then the business just grew organically.

Q: What is the biggest challenge you have faced starting your business?

The biggest challenge has been the cost of specialized equipment and finding appropriate space for our growing business.

Q: What is the most important piece of advice you would give to others who are starting their own
business?

You can’t do everything by yourself. Choose your team carefully, pick people who have skills that you don’t have and then trust them to help you.

Q: What was the biggest key to your success? How do you measure success?

Our biggest key to success thus far has been a commitment to exceptional quality. We don’t think vegan cheese should be a compromise, so what we produce is exceptional or it doesn’t hit the shelves.

Q: If you could go back in time, is there anything you would change about your entrepreneurial
journey?

Absolutely. I would have thought more about what supply chain and distribution meant for our profit margin and paid closer attention to trends in these areas.
