Maison Apothecare, a family-owned Canadian skincare brand founded in 2012, is set to expand its operations and pursue new opportunities in the natural skincare market. Known for its sustainable and gentle products made from exceptional ingredients and bio-active formulations, the company is gaining significant attention for its unique commitment to purity and style. Founder Natacha Rey has garnered recognition in prominent publications like Women of Influence and Canadian SME Business Magazine.
Rey expressed her gratitude for the support of NVenture, an organization that has played a crucial role in facilitating the growth and international expansion of Maison Apothecare and its new line of products, Lemon Aide. The Boundless Accelerator, which collaborates with NVenture, helped streamline the process, enabling Rey to seek investors aligned with her vision for the brand's future.
In 2025, Rey's goals include finding partners who share her passion for innovation and sustainability. The Boundless Accelerator team rapidly prequalified Maison Apothecare for the DELIA initiative, aimed at providing access to innovation capital for women-led businesses. This initiative is funded through a partnership with Nventure Business Development Corporation and the support of the Government of Canada's Women Entrepreneurship Loan Fund.
As a result of this collaboration, Maison Apothecare secured a flexible $50,000 loan that will support its business expansion efforts and the distribution of new environmentally responsible products, particularly the Lemon Aide Detergent line, which is set to be listed on Walmart's online marketplace. The Lemon Aide line features refillable and eco-friendly products designed for various household cleaning needs.
Wendy Curtis, CEO of Nventure, praised Rey's exemplary leadership and commitment to global environmental sustainability, highlighting her strong vision for the future of Maison Apothecare. The DELIA initiative aims to circulate repaid loans back into other women-owned ventures across Canada to help eliminate gender-based barriers in accessing financing for growth.
Alison Crumblehulme, CEO of Boundless Accelerator, emphasized the significance of DELIA in empowering entrepreneurs and fostering innovation. Crumblehulme expressed excitement about witnessing the positive transformation Maison Apothecare will achieve with the new investment.
Nventure, headquartered in Cobourg, Ontario, aims to provide financial support and strategic guidance to entrepreneurs, backed by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. The DELIA project, which began in 2020 with support from the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, has secured a $5 million investment aimed at addressing the gender capital gap for women-owned businesses. DELIA has successfully provided over 100 loans annually, representing a full commitment to building an inclusive economic landscape.
In July 2024, Nventure and Boundless Accelerator formalized their collaboration with a Memorandum of Understanding to pre-qualify Boundless Accelerator clients for DELIA financing. In just under five months, DELIA has seen nearly $600,000 deployed into twelve investments, including Maison Apothecare, highlighting the program's effectiveness in supporting women entrepreneurs on their path to success.
