WEtech Alliance has officially launched Cohort 10 of its renowned ScaleUP Accelerator Program, inviting applications for this six-month intensive initiative. The program is powered by Libro Credit Union and runs in partnership with Communitech and the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FEDDEV). This cohort also marks a significant milestone—the 10-year anniversary of the ScaleUP program, which has been instrumental in empowering founders, fostering innovation, and driving economic growth across Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
Since its launching in 2016, the ScaleUP Accelerator has made a notable impact, assisting 47 companies in developing 179 new products and services. Furthermore, the program has helped create 219 jobs and generate over $39 million in new revenue for participating businesses. Adam Castle, Director of Venture Services & Partnerships at WEtech Alliance, reflected on the program’s success, acknowledging the collective effort of founders, mentors, partners, and alumni who have contributed to building a supportive entrepreneurial community.
Cohort 10 participants will benefit from personalized mentorship, working closely with a dedicated team of expert Growth Coaches to create tailored growth plans. They will also have access to specialized workshops, with topics including AI for Business Development and Pitch Preparation. The program culminates in a Showcase and Pitch Competition, where finalists will compete for a grand prize of $20,000.
The ScaleUP Accelerator Program is designed for tech or innovation-based companies that either operate in Windsor-Essex or Chatham-Kent or are clients of specific WEtech partners including Communitech, the Accelerator Centre, Conestoga College, and MACcelerate.
Lori Atkinson, Regional Director of Libro Credit Union, emphasized the bank's commitment over the past decade to supporting the ScaleUP program. She acknowledged its critical role in enhancing the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, stating that it has empowered innovators and businesses, created jobs, and driven regional innovation. As they look forward to supporting a new generation of entrepreneurs, the anticipated positive impact on the community remains a focal point.
To commemorate the 10-year anniversary, WEtech plans to celebrate alumni success stories, recognize the contributions of mentors and partners, and highlight the long-lasting effects of the ScaleUP Accelerator Program in the region.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications by 11:59 p.m. on August 9, 2026. A virtual information session is scheduled for July 8, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for potential applicants to learn more about the program and ask questions.
In summary, the release of Cohort 10 signifies WEtech Alliance's ongoing commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in the Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent regions, further solidifying the ScaleUP Accelerator Program as a key driver of economic vitality and community development.
