Spark Centre Announces Sponsorship of TEDxOshawa 2026

TEDxOshawa, themed “The Future Decoded,” aligns closely with Spark’s vision of fostering innovation, technology, and human-centered solutions. According to Yuill, such events are crucial in highlighting local innovators and emerging thought leaders, ultimately nurturing the entrepreneurial culture Spark aims to cultivate in the region.

Scheduled at the Biltmore Theatre in downtown Oshawa, TEDxOshawa will run from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. The event is designed to offer a TED-style experience focused on community engagement. This year’s edition emphasizes amplifying local voices on a global platform. Lead organizer Faris Mahoon Siddiqui emphasizes the significance of having speakers from the community, whose diverse ideas, research, and lived experiences represent the richness of Oshawa. Through this initiative, TEDxOshawa aims to boost these voices beyond local boundaries.

The speaker lineup this year is diverse, covering various topics such as resilience, leadership, ADHD, nuclear energy, autism, hormones, and women’s health. Zehra Mahoon, a speaker coach for the event, notes that all talks will be published on the official TEDx YouTube channel, which boasts over 44 million subscribers globally.
