Altitude Accelerator Welcomes Richard Nonso as Our New Marketing and Communications Associate!

Richard is currently pursuing a Master of Management of Innovation at the University of Toronto, building on a foundation in Applied Computing and Economics. His interests revolve around technology, entrepreneurship, and community building, with a focus on creating pathways for others to access opportunities within the tech sector.

His journey into the realm of innovation began at the University of Windsor’s entrepreneurship centre, where Richard worked closely with entrepreneurs, supported various programming initiatives, and played a role in introducing students to startup methodologies such as design thinking and Lean Startup. This environment sparked his curiosity about the process of transforming ideas into impactful ventures—not only through the development of technology but also through the broader implications of innovation.

Richard's personal experiences as a newcomer and an underrepresented student navigating the tech landscape fueled his commitment to strengthening access for others in similar situations. He co-founded MyPath2Tech, a youth-focused initiative aimed at helping students navigate careers in technology. This initiative has facilitated hands-on programming, mentorship opportunities, and exposure to the industry for nearly 200 students, while also securing over $200,000 in funding to extend its outreach.

In addition to his entrepreneurial efforts, Richard has amassed significant professional experience across product management, business analysis, and banking operations. A consistent theme throughout these roles has been his ability to connect people, ideas, and resources, which has empowered him to advance various initiatives effectively.

Currently, Richard joins Altitude, where he is eager to contribute to the region's innovation ecosystem. He aims to support startups, amplify their stories, and bolster community connections. His diverse experiences, combined with his passion for making a difference in the tech landscape, position him effectively to drive innovation and foster collaboration within the community.
